Zach Top played here. So did Deryl Dodd and Larry Joe Taylor. Now Terrell’s Swingin Doors Saloon is listed for $1.4 million.

From the road, you might not guess the music history inside that little honky-tonk on FM 148.

Archived event listings put Zach Top here in 2022 and again in September 2023—an early chapter worth remembering for anyone who caught him on that stage.

Go back to October 2015, and Larry Joe Taylor’s own tour schedule lists a Swingin’ Doors show with Deryl Dodd and Dave Perez of Tejas Brothers. Some recognizable Texas-country talent, right here in Terrell.

But the history of a place like this belongs to the crowd, too—the regulars, weekend bands, couples on the dance floor and friends who kept coming back.

Now the roughly 4,200-square-foot saloon and its 1.45-acre property at 304 FM 148 are being offered with the bars, stage, dance floor and operating equipment.

For sale doesn’t mean closing. We haven’t found an announcement saying Swingin’ Doors is shutting down. The listing offers it as a turnkey venue for its next owner.

UPDATE WATER HAS BEEN RESTORED
🚨 WATER CONSERVATION REQUEST — TERRELL / NORTH KAUFMAN AREA

North Kaufman Water Supply says the City of Terrell is dealing with three water main breaks, and North Kaufman is currently not receiving water from Terrell.

According to North Kaufman Water Supply, its storage tanks are currently full, but customers are being asked to conserve water and turn off sprinkler systems until Terrell resolves the issue.

Important: This is a request to conserve water — not a boil water notice based on the information released so far.

We have not yet seen information from the City of Terrell confirming the locations of the three breaks or an estimated repair time.

We’ll update this post as more information becomes available.

You’ve driven past these black cameras around, probably without giving them much thought.

This one sits between Mariachi’s and The Shops at Terrell — and it got us wondering how these locations are actually chosen.

So we started digging.

How many Flock cameras are around Terrell? What do they record? Who can search the information? How long is it kept? And are they actually helping solve crimes here?

We’re working through those questions now.

Terrell remembers. 🇺🇸

This morning, the Terrell Fire Department, City of Terrell and community leaders gathered to honor the first responders who answered the call on September 11, 2001 — and never came home.

Twenty-five years later, we remember their courage, their sacrifice, and all those whose lives were forever changed that day.

🏁 Here’s a race we don’t get around here very often…

The American Sprint Car Series is coming back to RPM Speedway - Crandall, TX on October 10, bringing winged sprint cars back to the little ¼-mile dirt bullring.

And here’s something that puts the speed into perspective:

The ASCS track record at RPM is just 12.766 seconds for an entire lap, set by Seth Bergman in 2024.

That’s roughly a 70 mph average around the entire ¼-mile lap — turns included. These cars can be approaching triple-digit speeds before throwing it sideways into the corners.

The national ASCS series hasn’t raced at RPM since 2024, so this isn’t something we get right down the road very often.
