GALVESTON COUNTY: Starting tomorrow, April 8, crews will begin removing light poles on I-45 along the Galveston Causeway. One inside lane on the northbound side of the Causeway will be closed daily between 8:30am and 3:30pm for the rest of the week. Check www.HoustonTranstar.org.

Heartfelt condolences go out to Cheif Rusk's family both blood and blue. 😢💙🖤

In Memoriam of Chief Brian Rusk

Today, our hearts are heavy as we mourn the loss of a leader, a mentor, and a friend, Hitchcock ISD Police Chief Brian Rusk.

Chief Rusk was more than just an officer; he was a steadfast protector of our students and staff. He believed that the foundation of a safe school was built on strong relationships, and he lived that mission every day.

We extend our deepest condolences, thoughts, and prayers to his family, his fellow officers, and the entire Hitchcock and Galveston County community.

Hitchcock Police Department Canned Food Drive

The Hitchcock Police Department is proud to support our community this holiday season by hosting a Canned Food Drive to help local area food banks stock their shelves for families in need.

We’re accepting canned goods only — including soups, beans, vegetables, and meats.

Please note: no boxed, bagged, or fresh baked items can be accepted.

Donations can be dropped off anytime at the Hitchcock Police
Department, 6815 2nd Street, Hitchcock, TX.

Together, we can make a difference for our neighbors in need. Thank you for your generosity and continued support

Officer Spotlight: Officer Genaro Treviño

Officer Genaro Treviño joined the Pearland Police Department two years ago after serving seven years with other law enforcement agencies.

When asked why he chose Pearland PD, Officer Treviño shared that the department offers an outstanding work environment and numerous opportunities for career growth across various divisions. Having experienced several agencies, he values Pearland PD’s strong reputation for professionalism and its proven success in reducing crime.

Currently, Officer Treviño serves as a Field Training Officer (FTO) and is an active member of the Peer Support Group. He looks forward to expanding his contributions within additional divisions in the future.

Officer Treviño said, “Pearland PD stands out as a fantastic place to work, whether in specialized units or on patrol. It’s uncommon for officers to leave for other departments, which speaks volumes about the organization.”
