The love for your children is wild. Like… I would do absolutely anything for them. The joy they bring to our family, the countless laughs, even the frustrations as they grow into their own person — learning to negotiate and talk back — all of it.

It’s also why I can’t understand how anyone could ever choose to be an absent parent. It’s not about how much stuff you have or how much money you make. What truly matters is the love you give them — and the unconditional love they give right back ❤️

Fastest 5k, 10k and half marathon today! I didn’t hit my goal time, but how can I not be excited and happy about this! For the first time since committing to qualifying for Boston, it’s within grasp. I still think it’ll take me another 9-12 months to get there. Thanks to and for the coaching, workouts and motivation along the way! For now, we keep grinding!

and I. Date night. For yall that don’t know , Stormie and I do a date night every Wednesday. This is HUGE. it allows us to reconnect, and to be honest, even disconnect some. Let’s be honest, kids are F’n hard, breaks help so much! The fact that I met this women in junior high is wild. The fact that we have been dating since sophomore of high school, even wilder. What does it take? Nothing crazy. Communication, communication, communication, and the simple fact that you love one another. Always lead everything with love, and be PATIENT. I love you more than anything in thin world…and nothing will change that…

I was reflecting earlier… well, ‘reflecting’ sounds weird — I was really just thinking back to my first half marathon in Cypress. I ran something like 1:54. I remember thinking, how the fck does anyone get down to 1:30 or less?
Now I know what it takes.
Years. Years of consistency, dedication, and no excuses. Not perfection — just a long string of conscious decisions. Better choices with diet, alcohol, sleep. Small things, repeated over days, weeks, months… and that adds up to something f*cking incredible.
October 26th, we run for that 1:30.

What is love? Love is getting up at 3:00am because your wife was up and couldn’t get back to sleep. Love is then talking for 40 minutes about life. Stresses, goals, house possibilities, kids, trips and everything in between. Didn’t schedule it, wasn’t frustrated by it. Just happened organically. For 40 min at 3:00am. Communication, no matter when it happens, no matter how big or small, communication through everything. 20 years seems so little with you, and forever will never be enough….

Consistency. You always here that it works, you always know that it will work. Well here is some proof for you. Almost 10 months apart. I’ve been consistent for 10 months. 40lbs down. But just look at the increase in pacing / distance when it comes to MY SAME AVERAGE HEART RATE! I know the one from today was longer, but that’s just because I can now sustain this pacing for longer with the same effort! Love seeing progress like this.

Didn’t run the time I wanted, but still PRd by about 12 minutes. Running is funny, it doesn’t care about how hard you train, or any of that stuff. Some days are just harder than others. I tried really hard. Felt good through 17 then it was a mental battle. The last 4 or so miles my calves were cramping and if I ran .25 to a half mile straight, I would almost throw up. Part of that game I guess haha. It’s also wild, the entire race, mentally I was like I’ll never do this again. Now that it’s done, I can’t wait for the next challenge. Thanks to and for keeping me consistent and grinding! Until next time!
