Images of war. On June 6th 1944 my father James Martin Cook, with the 90th infantry swam to Utah beach in the Normandy invasion. Two Bronze Stars both for heroic action in combat. The 90th liberated the German concentration in Flossenburg Czechoslovakia April 23 1944. The Lutheran pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer was executed at the camp two weeks before the 90th got there. My father seldom spoke of the war and, never spoke of the death camp. He was a quiet, honest and hard working man. He passed away January 7th 1987 at 68 years of age. He is the greatest man I have ever known. I'm going to miss the Greatest Generation.

Slow moving facelift to my office. An original 1993 movie poster. This was on display in the lobby of the Cleburne Cinemark before and during the first run of Jurassic Park. No studio, no worries just turn the kitchen into one. A day of product photography. Jam and Salsa and Chow-Chow oh my. Two Einstein studio strobes each with 640 watt seconds and my favorite lens, the Canon L series 70 to 200mm 2.8. Nice to be indoors for this one.

I'm in the process of getting a new camera and a new computer system. It will take awhile to work out all the bugs. I've also got a senior photo session coming up for a young lady. I hope the pics turn out as well as I imagine them in my head.

I've been thinking of doing more hands on image making. Inspiration is at an all time low. I think I would like to try some oil based color pencils...but I'm not sure. Trying to force inspiration never works. Maybe a change of routine will jump start something. I'm up for a go at it.
