Can I be honest for a minute?
Today is one of those days when it’s a little harder to say, “Thank You, God.”
After days of fighting for my clients, making calls, looking for solutions, and refusing to give up, we finally reached the point where there’s nothing else we can do. The loan is falling through.
As a Realtor, people often celebrate the closings, the sold signs, and the smiles at the closing table. What they don’t always see are the deals that fall apart, the sleepless nights, the emotional investment, and the financial impact that comes with them.
This closing wasn’t just another transaction to me. I remembered the tears of joy from the little ones when our offer was accepted. Today I have the tough job of sharing the sad news. This completely breaks my heart. They were looking forward to starting the new year at a new school. They were excited that they were going to be part of a beautiful community and enjoy all the wonderful amenities.
For a moment, I found myself asking God, “Why? You know what this family needs and what they have been working so hard for. Why does this keep happening?”
I don’t have an answer.
But I do have a choice.
To hold my faith and know that God is in control.
Faith isn’t really faith when everything is working out. Faith is choosing to trust when nothing makes sense.
So today, I’m choosing to believe that what feels like a setback is not the end of my story. I’m choosing to believe that God’s plans are still better than mine, even when they don’t look the way I hoped.

One closed door doesn’t cancel the purpose God has for your life. ❤️
A message to me and all my real estate friends:
I truly hope tomorrow brings better news. And one thing I want to gently remind you of, because I think it’s important: the fact that this loan didn’t close doesn’t erase the integrity, persistence, and care you showed your clients. You did everything within your control. Sometimes our work is measured by the outcome, but our character is measured by how we serve even when the outcome isn’t the one we wanted. That part of your story is still something to be grateful for.
