I have to admit, I was skeptical about the whole beauty pageant thing - I guess growing up as a boy in Texas in the 80s and 90s I had no clue.
However, I have been pleasantly surprised at the service first approach that has been foundational to the program.
It is been such a reward to see the spirit of service that has filled my life with so much joy and meaning be instilled in my 7yr old daughter - service as a part of her programming.
We are so grateful to American Legion Post 12
for their willingness to let Aria work on supporting their Christmas in July for a Veteran family with 5 small children in need. And thank you to The American Legion National Headquarters for featuring this work on their website homepage this week.
Thank you to our church New Teamon Baptist Church that donated the funds to help make this possible.
The best part is seeing Aria have fun and get validation so early in life for helping g to serve others - we need more programs that promote this instead of raising a trophy.
