But one of the biggest factors that impacts your happiness long-term has nothing to do with the house itself…

🏡 It’s the neighborhood.

Here are 5 red flags I always encourage buyers to look for:

🚗 1. Overflow Parking
If every curb is packed with vehicles, it could indicate limited parking, overcrowding, or a high concentration of rental properties.

🏚️ 2. Deferred Maintenance
Multiple homes with peeling paint, overgrown yards, broken fences, or abandoned vehicles can affect future property values.

🚦 3. Unexpected Traffic
That quiet street during your showing may look very different during school drop-off, rush hour, or weekends.

💧 4. Drainage Issues
Watch for standing water, low spots in yards, drainage concerns, or signs of previous flooding.
