Opening weekend of dove season in the South is hard to beat.

Friends, family, football, plenty of shooting and a hot afternoon in the dove field in Hugo, Alabama.

And through all that September heat, the dogs never quit. Retrieve after retrieve, they just kept working.

A good hunt is even better with a good dog beside you.

A follow-up to the old headstone we found in the woods.

Thanks to several of you who helped search old records, we believe the grave may belong to Sarah Jane Wachob, 1864–1939, with family ties to Washington County and the Chipley area.

We appreciate everyone who helped us learn more about Sarah and the history connected to this property.
