I have toured way to many properties that have mold and I myself have had it in my home. Do NOT let a little (if its all over the place then thats a different story) mold stop you from buying a home! Heres an article on how to get rid of mold from a variety of surfaces and what technique needs to be used for each.

Bleach
Hydrogen Peroxide
Distilled white vinegar
Baking Soda

Unclog a drain with 2 household ingredients: white vinegar and baking soda. Pour 1 cup of vinegar down the drain, followed by 1 cup of baking soda. Place drain plug in the sink. After the fizzing has stopped, remove the plug and flush with boiling water.

Something my buyer clients often wonder is: "if I'm buying new construction, do I still need a home inspection?" The answer is ALWAYS yes! Even if you are buying a new construction home, you should still get a home inspection within the required timeframe. An inspection is not a pass/fail test and every home will turn up issues. but most of them will be minor. And, if there are any major issues that turn up that doesn't mean that the deal is done -- it just means that we have more work and negotiating to do!
