A lot can happen in a year.
If you are in the middle of something heavy, it is not going to feel like this forever.
What I was facing a year ago was a low point; I wasn't sure how it would work out and wasn't convinced it would.
Through it all, I heard this small voice, "Take the next correct step, the path will reveal itself." This fall, I revisited the verse in Psalms 119: "You are a lamp unto my feet." This passage was written by King David, and what someone wise pointed out was that back then, you literally used a lantern at night, and you could only see the next step in front of you. One foot in front of the other. There were no flashlights or headlights, just one foot in front of the other.
If I knew how things would unfold or the beauty that would emerge from the ashes, I would have been skeptical, but the God I know is a God of restoration (and if you aren't faith-based, it's also just practical, when you walk away from something that feels safe, that you once held tightly, and step into the unknown to bet on something else, you have no option but to level up).
Today, we closed on a property that holds a lot of history with our family and honestly, a house we were not ready for this time last year.
We have experienced this shift as a family, growing in really cool ways, building this next chapter surrounded by incredible people through opportunities and relationships that were not even on the radar a year ago, personally and professionally.
The cliche that things tend to work out the way they are meant to is true, so if you are in it, I'm always here to listen or join your group therapy chat. 😄
This is the first time we have moved since I've been in the industry, and wowza, I finally understand how much I ask of you all 😅
We are dreaming up ways to transform this property and make it our own, like we have had the chance to on our last two family properties.
Should we do a weekly recap of progress?
