When Mark and I lived in our first home, we would take long walks to our favorite street in the neighborhood and say dream about living on one of the pretty, historic houses there until one day we found out one of them was being auctioned off.

We put our bid in (literally online back when auction.com was a thing) we didn’t get it. A week later, it was back again and with the second chance, we won the auction and became the new owners of a complete fixer-upper.

I was 6 months pregnant with Scarlett, chasing a 2 year old Chloe around, holding down a corporate job in television, and biting off way more than we could ever chew alone.

Our community showed up big time. I can point to certain ceilings that specific friends helped me paint, showers tiled by one of my bffs, plaster chipped away, garden beds reshaped, and meals dropped off by our friends and families and church.

We moved in exactly one week before I went into labor.

Over the years, we turned this house into a home… its the only place Scarlett has lived and the one Chloe remembers, both girls were baptized in that pool. 🥹

We take with us the best memories of pool parties and crab feasts and almost lighting a tree on fire one year at our annual Christmas party IYKYK, and in the smaller moments… a glass of wine by the fire dreaming of the future, family walks around the neighborhood stopping to connect with friends, the girls having so much independence running around the neighborhood, did we mention our neighbors (!!!), walking to our best friends’ houses. It has been magic.

I know our time here shaped us and was the heart of so many special moments for our family.

Glyndon is such a special neighborhood and this house was such a dream.

Leaving something good for something unknown is so risky and this one feels exceptionally bittersweet but we are ready for our next adventure which happens to be right around the corner!

Today we get to pass the keys to the next family 🥰

When a homeowner was referred to me to sell her resale in this neighborhood… I knew we had a challenge. 🤝🏻

This is a community I know well, I’ve represented many of the new construction sales here. It’s beautiful… but also saturated. Between spec homes, new builds, and other resales (plus the added layer of it being a 55+ community), the buyer pool is naturally more limited. And since her plan was to stay long-term, the equity hadn’t quite caught up to her original design choices.

What we did:
