SENIOR COMMUNITY RESOURCE FESTIVAL

SAVE THE DATE! AUGUST 23, 2019

The Lakewood Apartment Resident Council and The Area Office on Aging will host: The Senior Community Resource Festival on Friday, August 23, 2019 from 10:00am to 1:00pm at The Lakewood Apartment, 2125 Arlington Ave. Toledo, Ohio.

Over 500 seniors are expected to attend the Senior Community Resource Festival. The resource festival will focus on connecting older adults to receive the necessary information, access to resource, services and programs from Health Care, Mental Health, Area Businesses and County Recourses. VA Services to Recreational Activities and so must more, that they need to remain safe and healthy to live independently. Thanks to the many vendors that donated with the support will enjoy exciting raffle prizes every half hour.
Information will be available that focus on the top senior concerns, such as, how to avoid senior scams and identity theft, remaining healthy and much more.

Many older adults in Lucas County are either diabetic or pre-diabetic, and may not even know it. Many of the Recourse, Health and. Education Vendors of Lucas County strives to improve the quality of life for this older adult population by offering FREE health screenings at the festival, such as vision, balance, hearing and more to help identify a problem early. The path to achieve longevity is to improve older adult’s quality of life and health screenings are an important part of maintaining good health.

An added feature this year, is the mobile food trucks which will be on-site to selling food from 10am-1pm. Papa Grill,, Cheezy Does it, Toledo Tropical Sno will be serving their lunch menu, fruit & vegetable truck, that was just quick taste what will be here.

“Seniors today are not the seniors of yesterday,” “the 60+ crowd are more active than ever before, mentally, physically and socially.” “Just Because We’re Older, Doesn’t Mean It’s Over!” Seniors are embracing life and to help them do it, We invite to join us by connecting older adults with resources, information, services and programs to help them be safe, healthy and independent.
