Gerjets Lawn Care, LLC Owned and operated by David and Ryan Gerjets When Ryan was only 9 years old, our neighbor Pearl asked if Ryan would like to start mowing her lawn.

Gerjets Lawn Care was officially established in 2007, but the Father/Son owners have been mowing lawns together since 2003. Since then we have continued to grow and in 2019 we serviced more than 120 lawns in some way. Whether mowing, rolling, aerating, or other services, we are always ready to take care of our customers lawns. We currently have 80+ lawns for the 2021 mowing season plus misc. lawns

while people are on vacation. We service lawns in Toluca and many surrounding communities including Wenona, Tonica, Minonk, Rutland, LaRose, Varna, McNabb, Henry, Spring Valley, LaSalle/Peru, El Paso, Oglesby, Lostant, and Streator. We are also a sub-contractor for the Vendors ‘Task Easy’, ‘SMS’, MirrorLawn, and JGM Properties mowing facilities such as Family Dollar, Dollar General, and homes for sale or in Foreclosure. We offer lawn rolling and core aeration services, bush trimming and many other lawn care services. The Gerjets Lawn Care team is licensed by the State of Illinois for pesticide control and is fully insured.

After finding out someone destroyed our mailbox this afternoon, I decided to go out and clean the driveway and pick up the pieces of the mailbox. This blower is the one we use for our lawns… makes quick work of the snow too. Some places were about a foot deep and it handled it easily.

The stripes were looking great while cutting today. Unusual for August mowing.

It is almost time for us to start rolling with our new roller. If the weather cooperates, we are hoping to be rolling lawns in just a few weeks. We have a list started from our last post so if you haven’t already requested to be on the list, please let us know and we’ll get you added.

Toluca friends and family…
If you haven’t taken the opportunity to make sure your belongings are secure, I really hope you do soon.

Our security cameras at our shed caught a guy stealing pallets last night. While we only had one pallet outside, another company had several stolen.

This was not even a month and a half since our trailer was stolen.

Unfortunately, there are people who have no respect for other people’s property either living in our community or traveling here to take what is not theirs.

Keep an eye open around your area, and if you see something that doesn’t seem right, please report it.

On Friday, November 8, Gerjets Lawn Care, LLC was a victim of a major theft. One of our enclosed trailers was stolen from outside our building on Santa Fe. This trailer contained mowers and many other pieces of landscaping equipment. Luckily, our trailer was recovered later that evening, but almost all the equipment inside was gone.

On Monday, November 18th, we received a call from a detective from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department advising us all our stolen equipment had been found in Streator and advised us we could come pick it up. We returned home with all the missing items, all in working condition.

We want to truly thank the Marshall County, IL. Sheriff's Department. Their officers and detectives worked very hard with the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department and several other agencies to recover our equipment. They communicated with us and shared what they could often during their investigation. Their professionalism and resolve in solving this case are truly appreciated.

You don’t often hear these results when something is stolen, so we feel blessed all our equipment was recovered.

We also want to thank those who reached out and offered their assistance and support during this whole ordeal.

We’re Rollin’ again!

A couple years ago we sold our lawn roller as it was becoming too expensive to maintain and in the repair shop more than it was on the lawns.
Since that time, we have been consistently asked if we were going to start rolling again.
We hadn’t planned on it, but with so many requests for the service, we decided to get another one and are now working on the list for next Spring.

If you would like to get your lawn on the list to be rolled next spring, please send us a message or give us a call.

The video shows Ryan testing it out at our house. With no rain for a long time, the ground is very hard… but this roller was able to smooth out this area.
