Karsten took the drone up over Acres Legacy on Tuesday evening. The site is cleared and stripped to grade and the civil plans are in review with the city. Storm drainage is next, then sanitary and water, on the way to 52 townhomes.

Which stage of a build do you most like seeing from the air?

Jason stopped by 7527 Crofton St on Sunday for a look at framing. One of the three units is completely topped out with roof framing and fully sheathed, and the other two should be there by the end of this week!

About three weeks ago all three of these were slabs. Once the framing is closed up the crew starts on the shared driveway, which is what finally makes the back units easy to get to.

Jason took us up to the third floor at Crofton Street this week!

Unit B is topped out with framing complete, and first level framing is done on the other two units. All three buildings are moving at once, 95 days into construction on our Houston co-living community.

As he says at the end, it is finally coming together after several years in the making.

Some career risks are worth every sleepless night.

Ten years ago, our co-founder Jason Hassenstab walked away from a stable, successful career at Kiewit to build something of his own. That leap became Elevated Development.

In a new interview with CanvasRebel, "Risk and the Stories of Triumph and Failure," Jason opens up about the decisions that shaped him. Trading corporate security for the uncertainty of entrepreneurship. Growing up in his family's concrete construction business. The discipline he carried out of nearly fourteen years building highways, bridges, power plants, and treatment facilities at Kiewit.

He also shares the philosophy that guides us today: growth doesn't always come from doing more. It often comes from doing fewer things exceptionally well. That conviction is why we've intentionally narrowed our focus to what our team does best, which is land development. We acquire land, secure entitlements, design and permit communities, install the infrastructure, and deliver finished sites ready for homebuilders, multifamily developers, and commercial users.

Our favorite takeaway? Jason's reminder that we aren't just developing land. We're naming the streets and shaping the communities where families will live long after we're gone. That's a legacy worth building.

Today, we pause to remember the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend. It’s a reminder that the freedom to build our businesses, serve our communities, and pursue the work in front of us, was paid for by people who never came home.

We honor that sacrifice, and we remember it with gratitude.
