25 years ago today, nearly 3,000 people went to work, boarded a plane, or ran toward the danger, and never came home. Many of them were our neighbors here in New Jersey.
We still remember where we were that morning. We remember the quiet that followed, and the way strangers held each other up in the days after.
To the families who have carried this loss for 25 years, and to everyone who answered the call that day and in the years since, you are in our hearts today.
Never forget.
