🌊🐠 Happy World Oceans Day! 🐢💙
Even here in Kansas, we can celebrate and appreciate our incredible oceans! Did you know:
🌎 The ocean covers over 70% of Earth's surface.
🐋 More than 80% of the ocean remains unexplored.
🌿 Oceans produce over half of the oxygen we breathe.
🐠 Coral reefs support approximately 25% of all marine life.
Although we're a landlocked state, our everyday actions can still impact ocean health. Reducing plastic waste, conserving water, and properly disposing of trash all help protect marine ecosystems!
Looking for a fun way to celebrate? Join the World Oceans Day event at the Topeka Zoo on June 13th from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM! There will be educational booths, activities, and opportunities to learn about the challenges our oceans are facing and what we can do to make a positive impact.
Let's work together to protect our blue planet—no coastline required! 🌊💙
