​Knowing that our "little slice of Nantahala" provided the perfect, peaceful pause for these travelers is exactly why we opened our doors. There is nothing better than hearing that our guests leave feeling refreshed and "wrapped in calm."

Little side quest today. In the winter TVA draws down Fontana Lake exposing Tennessee River and the old road bed of HWY 228 to Proctor. Proctor and 228 are victims of the creation of Fontana Lake and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. About a half mile hike on 228 road bed from old 228 boat ramp you can explore Lands Creek Bridge. Really neat to see it exposed. The bridge is in 20plus feet of water in the summer. Several bridges and box coverts on the old 228 remain.
