Everything inside this farmhouse will be for sale this Christmas, and every dollar goes back to the farm.
Serviceberry Farm, formerly Talmar, is a nonprofit horticultural therapy center and working farm inside Cromwell Valley Park in Towson. The farm grows vegetables, cut flowers, and herbs, and creates meaningful opportunities for people with disabilities and veterans through recreational, vocational, and therapeutic programming.
This winter, the farm launches Holiday Lane at Serviceberry Farm, a new holiday experience that builds on its longtime Christmas tree sale. Guests can choose a fresh-cut tree and wreath, shop seasonal gifts and vintage finds, gather around the fire pits, and warm up with hot chocolate and wassail from Travelin Tom's Coffee Truck while carolers fill the farm.
At the center is the Holiday Lane Design House, where local designers are transforming the stone farmhouse into themed holiday rooms. Everything inside will be sold during the event, and all proceeds support the farm's year-round needs, from winter greenhouse heating to accessibility improvements and expanded employment for adults with disabilities.
This past Saturday, volunteers spent the day inside the farmhouse turning bare rooms into the start of something festive. They painted walls and cabinetry, hung wallpaper, and began decorating the themed rooms that local designers will finish before opening.
Stacy took on the foyer, hanging the berry-print wallpaper that runs up the staircase. It's the first thing guests will see when they walk through the door, and a fitting pattern for a farm named after a berry.
The O'Hara Group is a Founding Community Sponsor of Holiday Lane's inaugural season. The team is always looking for the parts of this county that don't get enough credit, and this is one of them.
Holiday Lane runs November 27 to 29 and December 5 and 6 at 1994 Cromwell Bridge Road.
