We sailed up to grab the end of summer & fan girl for the 2026 Melges 24 World Championships in Harbor Springs, MI this week. 49 entrants, 4 countries, multiple past world & national champs in attendance. After 9 races in 3 days we have a shore delay, which gives me a moment to post an update. My son Finley Clark Finley Clark finished 3rd in yesterday's 1st race, I was filled with excitement & pride for him & his team. No doubt his Daddy was smiling down from heaven. Bob Clark loved this class & was instrumental in building the M24 fleets in Northern Michigan, his presence is missed. The event organizers are world class & Harbor Springs is so beautiful and everyone's so friendly. Even the grumpy sailors after a tough slog on the water where they work so hard but get dealt a tough blow when the winds shift or they can't get a clear lane. They could be looking like champs in one moment then in the back of the fleet the next. It's a challenge of he/she who makes the least mistakes. Looking forward to the next 2 days, hoping for some good winds and celebrating the next champ.
