I love this because it's true! When I bought my first home, I wasn't looking for a forever house, I was looking for something that made sense for where I was in life and gave me room to grow into ownership. Turns out that's exactly what a good first home does, and it's why I'm still here years later. First time buyers sometimes put pressure on themselves to find the forever house on the first try. That can make a realistic search feel disappointing before it even begins. A better question is whether the home supports your current priorities while giving you a comfortable path forward.
Maybe that means fewer bedrooms in a stronger location. Maybe it is a townhouse instead of a detached home. Maybe the perfect starter home simply gives you room to build equity and learn what matters most to you as an owner.
