🏠 Closing day = You own the house! ✍🏼🎉
And yes… that’s a VERY exciting day! 😁
But here’s something that can surprise buyers: you don’t always get the keys on closing day. 🔑
Why? OCCUPANCY.
Sometimes the sellers negotiate to stay in the home for a period of time after closing. Thirty days of seller occupancy isn’t unusual, depending on the circumstances.
Which means you can officially own the house… while patiently waiting for the keys. 🙃
Two of my buyer clients just got some VERY happy news this week — both will be getting their keys earlier than expected! 🤸🏻♀️🤸🏻♂️🤸🏻♂️
And that’s especially exciting for one couple, who have kids getting ready to start in a brand new school district. 🏫❤️
There are lots of moving parts between “Offer accepted!” and “Welcome home!” — and understanding the process can make all the difference.
