This photo was captured during the immediate 24-hour aftermath of Hurricane Helene. While four of our team members sustained devastating flood damage to their homes, we were still boots on the ground helping others.
Our team made multiple trips to assist with an emergency situation in Crystal Beach, Florida, where a 40-foot sea container had been lifted by floodwaters, swept down the street, and ultimately came to rest blocking the only egress to a neighboring home.
Although the floodwaters had receded by the time we arrived, at their peak the current was strong enough to lift and carry the container downstream. When our crew assessed the situation, we realized the container had slowly filled with water with no way to drain back out — making an already extremely heavy container even heavier.
Our crews understood the urgency of removing the obstruction as efficiently and safely as possible. We navigated significant hazards, as pictured, working to reposition the container so it could be lifted onto a rollback, all while remaining mindful of live electrical wires overhead.
The Dauntless team shows up dedicated and mission-driven, with a people-first mindset and our core values on full display: honesty, integrity, safety, and quality.
Our greatest asset isn’t equipment or projects; it’s the people we work with, build with, and stand beside. Strong teams, hardworking people, and community care are the foundation of everything we build.
Showing up matters. For the work. For the people. For each other. That’s how culture is built at Dauntless.
