Recent project we had the pleasure of completing for a Retired Firefighter who needed a garage makeover. Removed the old “over the counter” epoxy and upgraded him with ResinTek epoxy provided by Prestige Protective Coatings along with a full broadcast of “Wombat” flake!

Why don’t we fill the expansion joints in your garage?
They’re there for a reason! As the floor heats and cools throughout the year that little bit of movement can cause cracking in the top coats. Leaving these cracks open let’s the natural expansion happen without cracking your coating leaving it in pristine condition!

Thinking of epoxying your garage yourself?
Mistakes happen!! Epoxy gets SUPER HOT when it starts to set. It’ll burn right through a bucket and will burn your hand.
Side note, your vacuum might blow up also…

What’s the difference between using epoxy and poly urea as your top coat on your floors?
Epoxy dries as a super hard glass-like covering. While it’s incredibly hard, it’s also much easier to crack!
Poly urea and poly aspartics on the other hand are ever so slightly flexible so they have a little give to them. Don’t worry you won’t notice that little bit of bounce in them.
They are also much more UV and chemical resistant than solid epoxies. A clear, solid epoxy will yellow and discolor over time as it’s exposed to sunlight. This makes it a bad choice for outdoor areas and garages!
