Tucson, Arizona, is home to incredible hiking trails, including Seven Falls and Yetman Trail, both offering unique desert landscapes, waterfalls, and scenic views.
Seven Falls Trail (Sabino Canyon)
Overview:
Location: Sabino Canyon Recreation Area, Coronado National Forest
Distance: ~8.2 miles round trip (or ~4.6 miles with tram assistance)
Difficulty: Moderate
Elevation Gain: ~900 feet
Best Time to Visit: Fall to spring (October–April)
Highlights:
Features seven cascading waterfalls (flow depends on recent rainfall).
Requires multiple creek crossings, so expect wet feet!
Popular for hiking, swimming, and photography.
Tram option available to shorten the hike—shuttle to Bear Canyon Trailhead.
Tips:
Bring water shoes for stream crossings.
Visit after monsoon season (July–September) for the best waterfall flow.

Yetman Trail (Tucson Mountain Park)

Location: Tucson Mountain Park, west of downtown Tucson
Distance: ~12 miles out-and-back (can be shortened with different trailheads)

Elevation Gain: ~1,300 feet
Best Time to Visit: Fall to spring (cooler months)
Highlights:
Features rugged desert landscapes with towering saguaros and rock formations.
Passes by the historic Bowen Stone House ruins (built in the 1930s).
Offers expansive views of the Tucson Mountains.
Less crowded than Seven Falls, offering a more peaceful experience.
Tips:
Bring plenty of water—this is a dry, exposed trail with little shade.
Watch for wildlife, including coyotes and desert tortoises.
