Do you know what the water pressure reading in your home is? Do you know what it should be? We don't often think about the water pressure in our homes unless we aren't getting enough pressure in our showers or sinks, but have you ever thought about the water pressure being too high? Residential water pressure should be between 40-80 psi, ideally being near the middle around 60 psi. Water pressure over 80 psi can cause stress on appliances and water pipes leading to early failure. Assessing the water pressure is an important part of home inspections that we offer and if it is too high there are steps that can be taken to correct the issue before it causes problems.
