Maintenance teams are the backbone of multifamily—and far too often, they’re the most overlooked.
They’re the first call when something goes wrong and the last ones to leave when the job isn’t done. They keep our communities running—handling everything from emergency repairs to preventative maintenance, often behind the scenes and under pressure, with little recognition.
In an industry focused on occupancy, NOI, and resident satisfaction, it’s easy to forget that none of it works without a strong maintenance team. They are the reason residents stay comfortable, renew their leases, and feel at home.
Great maintenance professionals don’t just fix problems—they prevent them. They protect the asset, support the team, and directly impact the bottom line. And they do it all while navigating tight budgets, aging infrastructure, and increasing expectations.
AZ 1st Realty Management recently had the opportunity to host an event dedicated to our maintenance teams—a small way to recognize the incredible work they do every day. It was important for us to take a moment to celebrate them, because they truly are the foundation of our success.
