Okay I have to tell you about my Mother's Day because it was EVERYTHING.
If you have never gone flower shopping at Trader Joe's let me just tell you, it is a MOMENT.
We grabbed every color, every stem, every bloom we could get our hands on and honestly
Grab the peonies! Grab the ranunculus! GRAB IT ALL!
And then we came home and made the most beautiful bouquets together. Three generations of women, flowers everywhere, somebody inevitably got water spilled on them — but the laughing? The talking? The stories flying around that table?
I could have stayed in that moment FOREVER.
Then we cleaned ourselves up and headed to Mercado- St. Augustine for lunch.
MY women.
My daughters. My granddaughters. Sitting there in the sunshine, laughing, sharing stories
Such insight and depth and intellectual foresight that I kept thinking — wait, when did THIS happen?!
When did my girls become these stunning, confident, naturally beautiful, deeply BRILLIANT women?!
I'll tell you when. Every single quiet day I was pouring into them without even knowing it. And now look. LOOK at them.
I am not okay. I am completely overwhelmed and I am absolutely loving every second of it.
To my daughters and my granddaughters — you are my greatest adventure.
My proudest achievement. My most beautiful surprise.
I am in awe of the woman you have become, and I am grateful every day for you.
Now, somebody help me find a vase for all these flowers.
Happy Mother's Day from the most grateful mama and grandma in the room.
