๐ฉ๏ธ๐ต Monsoon Safety Tips from Cortland Sun River ๐ต๐ฉ๏ธ
Monsoon season is here in Tucson! While the rain brings cooler temperatures and beautiful desert scenery, it can also bring strong winds, lightning, and flash flooding. Please keep these safety tips in mind to help protect yourself, your family, and your pets:
โ
Turn Around, Don't Drown
Never drive or walk through flooded roads, washes, or standing water. Flash floods can develop quickly and become extremely dangerous.
โ
Stay Weather Aware
Monitor local weather forecasts and alerts for changing conditions, high winds, and severe storms.
โ
Secure Outdoor Items
Bring in or secure patio furniture, umbrellas, decorations, and other loose items before storms arrive.
โ
Seek Shelter During Lightning
If you hear thunder, move indoors immediately. Avoid windows and the use of electrical appliances during storms.
โ
Prepare for Power Outages
Keep flashlights, batteries, and mobile devices charged and readily available.
โ
Protect Your Pets
Bring pets indoors during severe weather and ensure they have current identification tags or microchip information.
โ
Keep Drainage Areas Clear
Remove debris from patios, balconies, and outdoor areas to help prevent water accumulation.
The safety of our residents is a top priority. In the event of an emergency, please call 911. For non-emergency community concerns, contact the leasing office.
