No mowing today! Thankful no injuries, excellent response from Tullahoma airport and area emergency services. They are reporting the pilot lost his brakes while taxiing. The FAA is investigating.

Today, the Tullahoma Area Chamber of Commerce paid a special Valentine’s Day visit to members Marcum Capital, Shahan Outdoor Services, and Tullahoma Bowling Lanes.

While we’re usually the ones giving gifts during our membership visits, the holiday of love persuaded Mark Shahan with Shahan Outdoor Services to gift us Chamber ladies with some beautiful flowers that now welcome those who enter the Chamber lobby.

As always, we enjoyed the opportunity to visit with our members and learn how we can better serve them.

As we horticulturist, landscapers, garden centers and nurseries continue to get bombarded with freeze questions I remind you to have patience. 90% or more of the plants in our landscapes will recover given time. Don’t fall prey to people looking to take advantage of you by telling you everything is dead and needs to be either cut down or dug up and replaced. Just because the leaves have fallen off doesn’t mean the plant is dead. Plants like hollies, Aucuba, laurels, boxwoods, azaleas and nandinas will likely leaf out come spring. Plants with dead stems (which may include some of the above depending on where you live) like Loropetalum, gardenias and camellias will likely come back from the trunk or even the roots. Conifers like Arizona cypress and Japanese cedars may be a different story. Time will tell. A bit of trivia, My father’s Tullahoma based Shahan Nurseries supplied trees 🌳 to the Masters. As a college student driving thru those gates was always inspiring and convinced me to change my course and pursue my degree in horticulture.
We are currently hiring crew members for our Fine Lawn Care team 15+/hour
We pay a 200 referral fee and bonus on any new hire after working one month.
