As you may know, we are anticipating wintery weather in this weeks forecast. Once the temperature reach below freezing for more than a night or two, the danger of pipes freezing increases.

This unfortunate occurrence can cause water pipes to freeze and burst resulting in flooding and extensive damage to your apartment, personal belongings and your neighbors apartment.

Last year we reached record breaking lows and with that came record breaking damage. Although many of these instances can be avoided by following the steps below we highly suggest you take this time to review your personal rental insurance policy to ensure your items are covered.

We ask that all tenants complete the following steps:
Let your kitchen and bath faucets drip on COLD, with stoppers OPEN (we don't want any flooding)

Keep your heat on and at a temperature at or above 65 degrees.

Leave cabinet doors under bathroom and kitchen sink open to keep warm air circulating around your water pipes.

Be sure to leave the doors to these rooms open if not occupied to ensure maximum heat.

Plan on being away? Please prepare your unit before your travels even if the temperatures are currently above freezing and notify your leasing office .

With your cooperation, this winter can pass without the inconvenience of freezing!
