🚨Emergency Community Mobilization in Response to Anti-Muslim Harassment in Broken Arrow
Tulsa County Democratic Party Chairwoman Sarah Gray today announced the launch of an emergency community outreach and support effort in Broken Arrow following reports of sustained religious harassment targeting members of the local Muslim community.
“Our Muslim neighbors are being subjected to unacceptable discrimination and intimidation,” Gray said. “Silence in moments like this is complicity. When any community is targeted for their faith, it is the responsibility of all of us to stand up, show up, and make it clear that hate has no home here.”
The Tulsa County Democratic Party will deploy volunteers throughout Broken Arrow on Sunday, January 11, 2026, conducting a full-day outreach effort designed to provide information, demonstrate community solidarity, and collect support statements from local residents.
Volunteers will engage in door-to-door outreach, phone calls, and informational flyer distribution. The effort will include two types of materials: an informational flyer explaining what has occurred and a support card that residents may complete and return as a show of solidarity with the Muslim community.
“This is about community protection, not politics,” Gray said. “We are mobilizing people to reach their neighbors because when fear and misinformation are allowed to spread, harm follows. Our goal is to replace fear with facts and isolation with solidarity.”
The effort will operate in rotating shifts throughout the day, and volunteers are also needed to serve as drivers and logistical support for canvassers. No prior political organizing experience is required.
Community members who wish to participate in this emergency response may volunteer for shifts of one, two, three, or four hours.
