Nothing like digging to the bottom of your dad’s WWII foot locker and discovering a few pictures you’ve never seen. 1946 in a field (not a garden) of tomatoes, Synar for Congress rally in Muskogee and a picture of his dog Mike he brought back from the war. Told me he once dropped off his Jeep to be fixed and said to the mechanics “just leave the damn dog alone in the back”. Said he got a call from the garage an hour or so later that the dog wouldn’t let anyone near the Jeep and to please come back quick.
