Only parents will understand this random snapshot from the weekend: Sitting at a restaurant eating dinner at 5:30 PM.
My daughter puts down her hamburger and walks around the table. She lays down in my lap and asks for a song 🎶

I’m a terrible singer — but to my daughter, I’m Frank Sinatra. I’ll sing my heart out anywhere for her. Waiters and diners and busboys come and go. I don’t care. For the next 10 minutes as she lays in my arms — not saying a thing — as I belt out the greatest hits for a 2 year-old. 👸🏼

When she got whatever it was she was looking for she hopped up and went back to her cheeseburger. 🍔

This is a small example of how parenting slows you down and literally forces you to appreciate the aimple, beautiful things God has placed in your life. Ultimately, parenting draws you closer to Jesus — because you’ll do anything to serve the angels he gifts you. 👼🏻🇺🇸

This is heart breaking but very true. The evolution of being an immigrant in the US doesn’t change much across decades or centuries. Difficulties will always be there. Totally makes me think of the movie Far and away with Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman.
