TURLOCK’S TRICK OR CHIP 🦇🍁 🎃

There is nothing scarier than a lost pet without a microchip… that’s why for the month of October, Turlock Animal Services is offering FREE microchips to residents of Turlock to ensure everyone has an opportunity to be reunited with their pet in the event that they become lost.

Residents of Turlock with a valid ID or Drivers License are able to receive this service on Tuesdays-Saturdays between 9:30am-3:30pm no appointment necessary.

⚠️Pets brought to our shelter for services must be ON A SECURE LEASH AND COLLAR(no flexi leashes) OR IN A CARRIER⚠️

Did you know that more animals get out on the Fourth of July than any other day of the year!?

With that many animals getting out, quite a few do not get to be lucky enough to make it home safe and sound. Since that time of year is just around the corner already, please start securing your yards now as well as making sure microchip and tag information is up to date! If your pet is not currently microchipped, please contact your vet to get them chipped (and registered!) ASAP. Start contacting your vet now for sedatives if you know your fur baby is going to need them. Do NOT wait til the day before as they are already going to be swarmed with unprepared owners on top of their usual workload.

It is your responsibility as a pet owner to ensure that you are prepared for any possible outcome. Please start preparing now to make sure your furry family members are safe this holiday 💕

Halloween is quickly approaching! 🎃🦇🍬 Which means little ones will be out walking the streets for Trick-or-Treating! If you're a driver, SLOW DOWN! And take some extra time to look for kids.

Don't drive distracted! Put your phone down and pay special attention when driving in neighborhoods, and when pulling in and out of driveways.

What's in your kit? Putting together your emergency kit is easier than you think. A few items to include are:
🟢Water (one gallon per person per day for several days, for drinking and sanitation)
🟢Food (at least a three-day supply of non-perishable food)
🟢Battery-powered or hand crank radio and a NOAA Weather Radio with tone alert
🟢Flashlight
🟢First aid kit
🟢Extra batteries
🟢Whistle (to signal for help)
🟢Dust mask (to help filter contaminated air)
🟢Plastic sheeting and duct tape (to shelter in place)
🟢Moist towelettes, garbage bags and plastic ties (for personal sanitation)
🟢Wrench or pliers (to turn off utilities)
🟢Manual can opener (for food)
🟢Local maps
🟢Cell phone with chargers and a backup battery
