🇺🇸 America didn’t hand me success. It handed me opportunity.
As America celebrates 250 years of freedom, I can’t help but reflect on my own journey.
In 1977, I left Iran and came to the United States on a student visa, just months before the revolution forever changed the country where I was born. I arrived with hope, determination, and faith that if I worked hard, I could build a better life.
America gave me that chance.
This country became my home. It gave me the freedom to dream, the opportunity to build a career I love, and the privilege of raising two wonderful sons who became proud American men. Today, I am blessed with four beautiful grandchildren—the greatest joy of my life and a living reminder of what one courageous decision nearly fifty years ago made possible.
For more than 35 years, my career in real estate has allowed me to help families find a place to call home. In many ways, it also helped shape me into the woman I am today: independent, strong, adaptable, and grateful.
But the greatest gift America gave me wasn’t my career.
It was my voice.
When you’ve witnessed freedom disappear, you never take liberty for granted. America gave me the courage to speak freely, to live without fear, and to become the person I was always meant to be.
America didn’t hand me success. It handed me opportunity. The rest came through faith, hard work, perseverance, and the kindness of people who believed in me along the way.
As I watch my grandchildren grow up under the same flag that welcomed me nearly five decades ago, my heart is filled with gratitude. They may never fully understand the sacrifices that made their lives possible—and that’s the greatest blessing of all.
Happy 250th Birthday, America.
Thank you for opening your doors to a young woman from Iran.
Thank you for giving me a home.
Thank you for giving me a future.
And thank you for giving me my freedom.
God Bless America. 🇺🇸❤️
