My crane tattoo isn’t just a pretty design! Cranes have long been associated with longevity, good fortune, peace, and happiness—and in Japan, they’re especially well known as symbols of longevity and good fortune.

So naturally, when I spotted this crane, I had to pose with my tattoo’s much taller twin. 😂

🍂 A little cleanup now can prevent a big headache later!
Leaves and debris can clog gutters and downspouts, causing water to overflow and collect around your roof, siding, or foundation. Before fall really gets underway, clear out buildup and make sure downspouts are directing water away from the house.

It’s one of those little home-maintenance jobs that’s easy to forget—until the first big rain reminds you. 😅

🏡 Purl Approved Tip: While you’re out there, look for loose gutters, sagging sections, or downspouts that have pulled away from the house.

The Modesto Symphony Orchestra is bringing a little Nashville to the Central Valley with an evening of country favorites under the stars. One of the things we love about living in the Valley is having events like this right in our own backyard! ❤️

Tiny gaps can make your home work harder.

Take a quick look around your exterior doors and windows for worn, cracked, loose, or missing weatherstripping. Replacing damaged seals can help keep conditioned air where it belongs, improve energy efficiency, and get your home ready before cooler weather arrives.

An easy check? Close a door or window on a piece of paper. If you can pull it out easily without much resistance, that area may not be sealing as tightly as it should.

A little maintenance now can mean a more comfortable home later! 🍂
