What’s hiding under your bathroom sink? 👀

This cabinet shows significant suspected mold or mildew growth, along with a flexible drain connection that needs further evaluation.

💧 Excess moisture can damage cabinetry and create conditions favorable for mold growth.

🔧 Improper drain connections can contribute to leaks, drainage problems, and future repairs.

It’s easy to overlook what’s hiding behind those cabinet doors, but that’s exactly why a thorough home inspection matters!

🎃 It’s officially spooky season! 👻

The good news? The only monsters you should have to worry about this October are the ones hiding in your Halloween decorations.

When I inspect your home, I’m looking for the real-life “monsters” hiding under the bed, behind the walls, in the attic, under the house, and everywhere in between. 🔎🏠

And when the inspection is complete… you can sleep a little easier knowing your new home is Certified Monster-Free! 👹✅

🚨 ANGRY FINGER ALERT! ☝️⚡

You see those screws holding the cover on this electrical subpanel?

Yeah… those aren’t the right screws.

Electrical panel covers are supposed to be secured with blunt/flat-ended screws specifically intended for the enclosure.

Instead, someone used metal self-tapping screws with pointed ends. 😬

Why does that matter?

Because those sharp screws can extend into the panel where they shouldn’t and potentially contact wiring or energized components.

This is one of those things that might look like a tiny detail until you realize what that screw is sitting next to.

⚡ Electrical panels aren’t the place to improvise with whatever screws happen to be in the toolbox.

The right screw matters.

☝️ Angry Finger approved? Absolutely NOT.

🚨 ANGRY FINGER ALERT! ☝️😡

This deadbolt was so loose, I didn’t even have to turn the key to make the lock move.

The key is still in the deadbolt, and I can move the entire deadbolt assembly around in the door. That is definitely not how your exterior door hardware is supposed to behave.

Loose or improperly secured door hardware can affect the operation and security of the door — and it’s something I look for during every inspection.

If the Angry Finger points at it, there’s a reason. ☝️😡

🚨 ANGRY FINGER ALERT! ☝️😡

This is NOT how I want to see a lavatory drain connected.

That flexible/corrugated drain pipe may be convenient, but it creates unnecessary ridges and low spots where water and debris can collect. A proper lavatory drain should be installed with smooth, appropriately sized drainage piping and proper slope.

Just because it drains doesn’t mean it’s installed correctly. 👀

And yes… the Angry Finger has been deployed. ☝️😂

If your floor can send a golf ball across the room by itself, it might be time to find out why.

“It’s just an old house…” 😡☝️

That does NOT mean the floor should feel like a trampoline.

Rotted wood flooring can indicate long-term moisture intrusion and can become a serious safety issue. This is exactly why a thorough home inspection matters—especially in older homes.

Don’t ignore what’s happening underneath your feet.
