When the outlet is loose enough to move… 😡☝️

If an electrical receptacle is loose in the wall, that’s not something to just ignore. Receptacles should be securely mounted, and excessive movement can indicate improper installation or a problem with the electrical box or mounting.

And yes… I’m pointing my angry finger at it. ☝️😤

🚨 ANGRY FINGER ALERT! 🚨
Oh we’re finger‑wagging TODAY.
This filter hasn’t just missed a change — it’s been ignored so long it’s getting sucked into the air return like it’s trying to escape the house.
When your filter starts disappearing into the return, that’s not “oops.” That’s “I’ve declared war on my HVAC system.”

Choked airflow. Dust getting VIP access into the system. Efficiency crying in the corner.

🚨 Angry Finger Alert!🚨

This is a newer roof… and yet the roofer who installed the metal section spilled a handful of fasteners all over the asphalt shingles and just left them there. No cleanup. No magnet sweep. No attention to detail. 🤦‍♂️🔩

Loose metal fasteners sitting on shingles can grind into the surface, cause abrasion, create rust stains, and even lead to premature wear or leaks over time. These aren’t ‘little mistakes’ — they’re shortcuts that cost homeowners money later.

And to make things worse, the seller says they keep finding “random screws” in their driveway. That’s not random — that’s a sign of sloppy cleanup and poor jobsite management. Screws don’t magically appear. They come from careless work. 🚫🪛

The Angry Finger is out today because homeowners deserve better than this. If you’re paying for a roof, you should be getting quality, not carelessness. 👆😤

Not every home inspection is all attics, crawlspaces, and finding defects.

Sometimes I get to meet a couple of four-legged “assistant inspectors” who insist it’s time for a game of fetch. 🐶🎾

One of the best parts of this job is meeting great people—and their awesome pets. Taking a few minutes to play with these two definitely made my day!

Now… after quality control was complete, it was back to inspecting the house. 😄

🚨 Angry Finger Alert! ☝️😡

When water gets around an exterior door, the fix isn’t always “grab a can of foam and call it good.”

Foam can have its place, but it’s not a substitute for proper exterior sealing, flashing, and drainage. The bottom of a door frame is one of the last places you want moisture hiding.

A little “quick fix” today can become rot, damage, and expensive repairs tomorrow.

That’s why a good home inspection looks beyond what’s obvious. 🏠🔎

🔥 Angry Finger strikes again…

This attic had a history of fire damage — but the repairs didn’t tell the whole story.

Charred wood was still left in place instead of being properly evaluated and replaced. Fire damage isn’t something you can just cover up and forget about. A proper repair matters for the safety, structure, and future of the home.

Don’t let a fresh coat of paint hide old problems. 🏠☝️

👆 This plumbing vent system in the attic is incomplete and improperly installed.

Plumbing vents aren’t just pipes sticking through the roof—they allow your drain system to breathe, help fixtures drain properly, and keep sewer gases out of your home.

When vent piping is incomplete or improperly routed, it can lead to:
❌ Slow-draining sinks and tubs
❌ Gurgling drains
❌ Sewer gas odors inside the home
❌ Plumbing system performance issues

This is the kind of defect that’s easy to miss unless someone is willing to get into the attic and inspect it.

👉 ANGRY FINGER ALERT 👈

You know access is a problem when the home inspector has to get on the roof just to see what’s behind a bush.

This massive spiky shrub completely hid the electrical meter and blocked access from the walkway. From ground level, you couldn’t even tell the meter was there.

No, I didn’t crawl through it.
No, I didn’t fight my way through it.
I took the high ground. 😆

While inspecting the property, I observed vegetation obstructing access to the electrical meter. Overgrown landscaping should be trimmed back to provide safe and reasonable access to utility equipment.

Today’s Angry Finger points at:
🌿 Landscaping that has officially won the battle against visibility.
