A scarecrow is both decorative and functional and making your own is a lot of fun! All you need is some old clothing, 2 x 4’s and some wheat straw. This is a great project for the whole family.

Things you will need
• Old clothing
• Burlap
• Twine
• 1- 5’ long 2” x 4”
• 1- 3’ long 2” x 4”
• 3- 5” long wood screws
• Wheat straw

Step 1
The first thing we are going to do is make the scarecrow form. Screw the 3’ piece of wood to the 5’ piece of wood to make a cross. The 3’ piece should be about 1’ down from the top of the form. Secure it with 3 screws.

Step 2
Before you do anything else, put your t-shirt on your scarecrow.

Step 3
Make the head out of burlap. Start by rolling the burlap tightly and then wrap it around to make it look like a head. Secure the head to the scarecrow form with twine. We added a garden hat and sunglasses so he wouldn’t get sunburned.

Step 4
To put on the pants, cut a hole between the legs and shimmy the pants up the post- *phew*. As painful as that may be for our little guy, it will give a full figure. Tie the bottom of the legs with twine. Then, use the twine to make suspenders. Once the pants are secure, stuff them with wheat straw. Lastly, stuff the shirt with wheat straw.

Lastly, place your scarecrow in your yard and enjoy!

Over 30k pieces of candy will be given away at our FREE 12th annual Haunt The Concrete Halloween party! One of the biggest community parties of the year!
Everyone is welcome, but everyone must earn their candy! Everything is FREE!
No trick or treating here, just several fun festival-style games for kids and adults of all ages to win tons of candy by outwitting the scary ones!
Same day as the City of Newcastle event, so you can go enjoy their thing in the afternoon and come out to win a bunch of candy with us in the evening!
TWO parties, only having to dress up once!
If you don't leave with enough candy to last your whole household for at least 6 months, I don't know what to tell you... Because we are giving plenty away!
With other giveaways as well, spooky music, great decorations, and fun games for all ages. Your kids are sure to have a blast. More fun than trick or treating and all in one spot!

Pumpkin decorating ideas just in time for Halloween! Some really cool ideas we’ve found for decorating pumpkins. And they don’t require a carving knife! These ideas won’t provide you with any pumpkin seeds to roast (love those!). But you won’t have any pumpkin guts to clean up either. That can get very messy. All you need is some spray paint, a glue gun, rhinestones and a few assorted craft items. It all depends on what you want to make.
