WEEKEND PLANS on Tybee? We're expecting substantial traffic on Highway 80 this weekend as crowds come and go from Tybee Island.

Here's what you can expect according to Chatham County Police:

🚦 Significant presence on Highway 80: Our goal is to keep traffic flowing as much as possible, and to be in a position to respond quickly to any accidents.

🚓 Saturation patrols in neighborhoods to respond to any needs that may arise.

👮 Increased staffing so we can also respond quickly to calls for service outside of the Highway 80/Islands area.

Here's an important reminder if you're visiting: After the Bull River Bridge, the road to Tybee narrows to one lane in each direction and stretches for about 13 miles. Significant delays coming and going from the island should be expected all weekend.
