It only takes a few minutes, but it’s one of the most important home safety checks you can make.

Add these to your home maintenance list:

📝 Contract & Earnest Money
Once everything is signed, any required earnest money is submitted according to the terms of the contract.

🔍 Inspections
Depending on your contract, this is your opportunity to have the home inspected and learn more about its condition.

🏦 Financing Moves Forward
If you’re financing, your lender continues processing your loan, verifying documents, and working toward final approval.

🏠 Appraisal
Your lender may order an appraisal to determine the property's value for financing purposes.

📋 Title Work
The title company works behind the scenes to make sure the property can legally transfer to its new owner.

✅ Final Walkthrough
Shortly before closing, you’ll typically walk through the property one last time to make sure its condition is as expected.

🔑 CLOSING DAY!
Documents are signed, funds are finalized, and once everything is complete, it’s time for the best part — getting the keys! 🎉

🏡🔐 September is REALTOR® Safety Month

Real estate often means meeting new people, visiting unfamiliar properties, working alone, and being on the road throughout the day. This month is an important reminder that no appointment or transaction is more important than your safety or the safety of those around you.

A few habits can make a big difference:

📍 Share your location. Let someone know where you’re going, who you’re meeting, and when you expect to be finished.

👥 Meet new clients safely. When possible, meet for the first time at the office or another public location before heading to a property.

🚗 Park with an exit in mind. Avoid getting blocked in and keep your keys and phone easily accessible.

🚪 Let clients lead the way. When showing a property, allow clients to enter rooms ahead of you rather than turning your back.

📱 Keep your phone charged. Have emergency contacts readily available and consider using location sharing during appointments.

🏠 Know the property. Take note of exits and your surroundings when you arrive, especially when showing vacant or unfamiliar homes.

🤝 Trust your instincts. If something doesn't feel right, leave. An appointment can always be rescheduled.
