Wow,
Today has taught me to be a bit more skeptical of our society. When something doesn’t seem right, it usually almost always isn’t… I was contacted by an individual through a realestate website, to do comps on the property that they would like to sell. The phone number was a Hawaii number .. ok, that happens and can’t judge on that alone, but a flag none the less, I did my due diligence and come to a price point in which to list.. it’s a valuable piece.. I communicate with the “seller” via text and email, however did speak to the guy… I asked the guy about the property and he didnt answer my question… ok possible flag, but also could be he wants me to do my homework.which I did… 😉I also decided to do a search for the property owner through other means and found a different set of Numbers that were associated with the property owner, the ACTUAL owner… so I tried to call him yesterday and the voicemail was distinct in ethnicity and accent.
When i called the “Seller” his voice sounded like it passed… pitch and accent got me…. To a point, but I remained skeptical…the key that Sank it for them was the price… the property was bought for 80,000,
Improved with clearing, driveway, and electrical conduit on site,, it was going to be listed for significantly more…. However the “Seller” wanted 89,000 for the property….. yea no…. I called again the actual land owner to finally speak to them and confirm that infact, no… they were not selling their land…. Fraud …. It happens… another one went further in CT when a land owner went to the property to find a house built on it.
Verrry Crazy world… be careful
If it doesn’t smell right… probably not… go with your gut
