Being recognized as a 2026 BBB Torch Awards for Ethics Finalist gave us a chance to reflect on something we don’t always stop to talk about: how we want to do business.

For us, it’s about more than installing insulation. It’s about showing up, communicating clearly, giving customers honest recommendations, standing behind our work, and building a company people feel good about calling.

Those things have shaped Insulation Hub from the beginning, and being recognized by the Better Business Bureau for those values is something we’re incredibly proud of.

We shared a little more about what this recognition means to our team and where we go from here on the blog.

Another project completed in Tipp City, Ohio!

We first worked on this 40' x 48' x 14' building last year, insulating the roof. This year, the customer brought us back to finish the job with insulation in the walls.

We love getting the opportunity to come back and help customers complete their spaces as their projects grow.

We’ve got some exciting news!!! Nate is taking the stage! 🎤

Insulation Hub has been selected to participate in the 4th Annual Randolph County United Open for Business Pitch Competition, and Nate will be representing our team as he pitches alongside other local businesses and organizations competing for a share of more than $20,000 in prizes!

And this isn’t just a sit-back-and-watch kind of event, the audience gets to vote for the Audience Choice Award, so we’d love to see some familiar Insulation Hub faces there cheering Nate on!

We’re excited for the opportunity to share where Insulation Hub is headed, represent our community, and compete alongside some great local entrepreneurs.

A little behind-the-scenes from the BBB Torch Awards!

It was a special night for Nate and his wife to get dressed up, step away from the day-to-day, and celebrate everything that’s been built at Insulation Hub over the years.

Running a small business comes with a lot of long days, problem-solving, and hard work that most people never see so nights like this are a pretty great reminder to stop and appreciate how far you’ve come.

We’re proud of Nate, proud of this team, and proud of the business and community we continue to build together.

We may not have taken home the award, but being named a finalist for the BBB Serving Central Indiana Torch Awards – Commitment to Community Award is something we’re incredibly proud of.

Nate and his wife had the opportunity to attend the Torch Awards celebration and represent Insulation Hub alongside some outstanding Indiana businesses that are committed to making a difference in the communities they serve.

For us, this recognition means a lot. Insulation Hub has always been about more than insulation, it’s about taking care of our customers, supporting the communities we work in, and building a business people can trust.

Most homeowners think a bigger HVAC system means a more comfortable home.

But if your house is leaking hot, humid air, a bigger system may just be working harder to compensate for a building envelope problem.

Here’s an easy way to think about HVAC tonnage:

1 ton of cooling = enough cooling power to melt 2,000 lbs. of ice in 24 hours.

So a 3-ton system is essentially removing the same amount of heat it would take to melt 6,000 lbs. of ice every day.

Now imagine improving your home’s insulation and air sealing enough that the same house only needs a 2-ton system.

That’s 2,000 lbs. less “ice” worth of heat your AC has to remove every day.

That’s why we tell homeowners: Don’t make your HVAC system fight problems your insulation should be preventing.

A properly insulated and air-sealed home can mean:
✅ Less heat and humidity getting inside
✅ More consistent temperatures from room to room
✅ Less strain on your HVAC equipment
✅ Lower heating and cooling costs
✅ A more comfortable home year-round

A pretty unique opportunity for the Insulation Hub team!

We recently had the chance to visit and provide a quote for the Wilbur Wright Birthplace & Museum, a place dedicated to preserving the story of one of the pioneers who helped change the world through powered flight.

It’s not every day that a potential project comes with this much history attached to it!

If you haven’t visited the museum, we definitely encourage you to check it out. Take the kids, bring your family and friends, learn a little more about Wilbur Wright’s Indiana roots, and support a local museum preserving an incredible piece of American history.

Project Spotlight out of Union City, Ohio!

This garage/man cave needed more than a one-size-fits-all insulation approach, so our crew used the right material for each part of the space.

✅ Spray foam along the roof deck and gable end
✅ Drill-and-fill cellulose in the lower exterior walls

Insulation HUB is heading to the Open for Business Pitch Competition!

We’re excited to share that Nate Conklin, owner of Insulation HUB, will be representing our company in this year’s competition through the East Central Indiana Small Business Development Center.

Over the next several weeks, Nate will participate in business-planning workshops, work alongside SBDC advisors, and develop a pitch focused on Insulation HUB’s continued growth, innovation, and impact throughout the communities we serve.

The competition will conclude with a live pitch event on September 24, where local businesses and nonprofits will compete for more than $20,000 in funding.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to learn, grow, and share the Insulation HUB story and we’re excited to see where this experience takes us!
