Trash Schedule Update:

The following is the information regarding changes to the trash/recycling schedule for the City of Union effective Monday, August 31st, 2026. All residential trash/recycling collection within the City will move from your current day (Tuesday-Friday) to Mondays.

Please review the following information carefully and comment below or contact City Hall (636-583-3600) if you have any questions.

The following information will be sent out to all residents via a mailer from the trash company.

All waste collections will be moving to Monday starting August 31, 2026.
Trash and Recycling will be collected weekly.
Yard waste and 1 bulk item will be collected every other week (yard waste will be collected on that schedule for the entire year).

To start off on August 31st, residents on the north side of Highway 50 (Wal Mart/Downtown Union side of the Highway) it will be your week for yard waste and 1 bulk item pickup. After that date, your pickup yard waste/bulk item pickup dates will alternate each week. (your future yard waste/bulk item pickup dates will be 9/14, 9/28, 10/12, 10/26, 11/9, 11/23, 12/7, 12/21)

The week of September 7th (Labor Day so we will end up on Tuesday, 9/8 due to the holiday, residents on the south side of Highway 50 (QT, Ace Hardware side of the Highway), it will be your week for yard waste and 1 bulk item pickup. After that date, your pickup yard waste/bulk item pickup dates will alternate each week. (your future yard waste/bulk item pickup dates will be 9/21,10/5, 10/19, 11/2, 11/16, 11/30, 12/14, 12/28).

If you are missed for whatever reason, contact City Hall at 636-583-3600 before 4:30 PM on the following Tuesday and we will relay the information to the trash company. The trash company will pickup up missed pickups on Wednesdays.

If our Monday trash day is a holiday (like Labor Day), trash pickup day will be on Tuesday and the missed pickup day will move from Wednesday to Thursday for that week.

The City will have additional information on our website as it becomes available.
