s a Heath Bar Cannoli
Today, September 26, we continue celebrating National Cannoli Month at Jasper’s Restaurant & Marco Polo’s Italian Market with one of my favorites, the Heath Bar Cannoli!
We start with our sweet, creamy ricotta filling and fold in pieces of crunchy Heath Bar, that wonderful combination of buttery English toffee and chocolate. Then we fill one of our crisp cannoli shells, dust it with powdered sugar and finish it with even more Heath Bar goodness. Creamy, crunchy, buttery, chocolatey and just plain delicious!
And here’s a little candy history. The Heath Bar was created by brothers Bayard and Everett Heath in Robinson, Illinois, in 1928. In the early days, you could actually have Heath Bars delivered to your home right along with your milk! Hershey acquired the Heath brand in 1996, and the bars are still produced in Robinson today.
