We’re starting to see more homeowners rethink the usual primary bathroom vanity setup. ✨🔍

Instead of keeping everything in the bathroom, some are leaning toward a dedicated closet vanity area, tucked away with storage, seating, and a little more breathing room to get ready.

So we have to ask: are you team closet vanity or team primary bathroom vanity?

Before you choose a lot, think about more than just the address. 📍📐

Driveway placement, drainage, sun direction, views, outdoor living space, and how the home will sit on the property can all shape the way your custom home feels and functions.

That’s why the planning stage matters. A great new construction home starts with a lot that fits the way you want to live, not just a pretty piece of dirt with big dreams and questionable drainage.

Butler’s pantries have come a long way from their more utilitarian beginnings. 📐✨

These days, they’re the perfect place to add a little personality into your custom new construction home. That rare tile you loved, but maybe didn’t want to use across the whole kitchen? The finish that felt a little too bold for the main space? A butler’s pantry gives those details a place to shine.

It’s functional, beautiful, and tucked just enough away to feel like your own little design moment. Because building custom means planning the spaces that fit your style, your routines, and the way your family actually lives.

Friday Feature: the dog wash station Bijou would like everyone to believe was built specifically as her personal spa. 🐾🚿

And while muddy paws are definitely on the list, this custom feature pulls more than one shift. It’s perfect for rinsing dirty boots, soaking indoor plants, or giving outside greenery a safe spot when South Louisiana decides to throw us one of those hard winter freezes. 🌿

Smart details like this are what make a custom new construction home work for real life, pets, plants, messes, and all.

Builder Tip: before you fall in love with a floor plan, make sure it fits more than just your style. 📐✨

A good floor plan needs to work with your property, your budget range, your daily routine, and the way your family actually lives. The kitchen flow, storage, bedrooms, outdoor space, natural light, and those everyday details all matter before construction ever starts. 🌅

That’s why the planning stage is such a big part of a custom new construction home. The better the plan fits you from the beginning, the smoother the build feels from the ground up.
