Whats the point of a protest? I got this question a lot before today. My answer - we can never let what’s happening become normalized. That’s when we have truly lost. But for now. We are in the fight! Was glad to see some friendly faces I knew at the NoKings march today. Let’s keep it going. Courage is contagious!

finally got me out of work mode to come check out and it did not disappoint. It’s a non-alcoholic bar on H st NE and has a lot of creative vegan options with their collaboration with I loved that they had games (I whoop ass in chess) and a cool eclectic crowd. Definitely worth checking out.

Ever had a parent tell you what they want to happen at their funeral? It forces your mind to be in the moment and in the future at the same time. Saddening, yet glad they’re still here to be able to even talk about it. My mom’s NOT dying now but she recognizes that all of us have an appointment with it on our calendar. I just want to make sure that I can say the same three things my mom said to me last night. “I’ve had an amazing life and my funeral should be a big party” “ I’m definitely not scared to die” and “I just want to go out having fun just like I always did” These are things we all need to say. Time for all of us to do it like my mom did it! Stop waiting til next year to do the things you’ve always wanted to do. (I’m talking to myself here as well). Next year is not promised. Now is your time.
