The number of homes for sale nationwide has fallen ~50% since July 2019. And in many cities, the decline over the same period is 60-80%! We need lower interest rates (to free up 'locked-in' sellers & improve affordability for buyers), but apart from inflation, the macro data hasn't been helping us.
