Today marks the end of a 13 year experience sharing my space, the Hickory Creek Lodge, with travelers from around the world. Yes, the world. They came from all corners and all walks of life for a variety of reasons. Many came back over and over again throughout the years. A big thank you to each and every one of you. By and far I had nothing but great interactions with my guests. Some really absorbed and treasured the wonders of the lodge and its connection to our national landscapes. For all who hand wrote messages in the guest book, I read each one and take it to heart. Some very kind and deep messages filled with inspiration. The notes the children scribbled are so touching. It is with much emotion that I bring this grand adventure to an end. Appreciate you all.

Today the lodge went on the market. It has been one heck of a ride. A ride never expected but came with much reward. Triumphs and failures, living and learning. The biggest Thank You! to my guests. It’s been a pleasure sharing the grand treasures of our nations wonderlands.

All reservations for the next 45 days will be honored.

If you have stayed here and wish to share your experiences please do so. I have read each and every hand written entry in the guest book often bringing joy yet tears to my eyes. I can happily say I maintained a 4.9 star rating over 13 years of service to my guests. For that I am thankful and proud ! 🥲

✊🏾 3rd Annual Black Heritage Festival in Urbana – Celebrate with us at this vibrant festival honoring black heritage and culture.
👨‍🌾 Unveiling of the Andy Detwiler "Harmless Farmer" Monument – Join us for the special dedication of this heartfelt tribute.
🎵 Live Music at Urbana Brewing Co. – Relax with friends, enjoy some great brews, and listen to live tunes - this is a SOLD OUT - ticketed event.

Giving you a heads up for our FRIDAY SPECIAL. Starting the day with our SMASHED BRISKET CHEESEBURGER DELUXE! We made a couple this afternoon for quality control - PASSED WITH FLYING COLORS! Get one with Mumford Chips and a side of our Mashed Potato Salad…. You won’t be mad!
Then at 4:00, SMOKED PRIME RIB ——— GONNA BE A HAPPY FRIDAY so get Mom and have a pre-celebration for Mother’s Day!
