Back-to-school didn’t create a new problem in your house. It just made the old one impossible to ignore.
One bathroom, three people, 7:15am. Homework on the kitchen counter because there’s nowhere else for it to go. If that’s your mornings right now, you’re not imagining it, and you’re not alone in it.
Here’s what I’d tell my own sister: summer hides a lot. September shows you how your house really works.
Most parents don’t notice they’ve outgrown a home. They feel it first, in a hundred small mornings like that one, long before they ever say the word “move.”
So how do you actually know if it’s outgrown, and not just clutter? Four signs: someone’s always waiting on a bathroom. There’s no door to close for homework or calls. You’ve rearranged twice and it still doesn’t fit. The school you want is across town.
Clutter is a weekend fix. Outgrown isn’t, and that’s okay. It doesn’t mean you move tomorrow. It means you start the plan now, your equity, your budget, and which Solano town actually fits your family. Then spring isn’t a scramble.
I built the roadmap I’d hand my own family. Six months of prep, in order, so the next move is one you drive.
Comment “ROADMAP” and I’ll send it over.
