This is what keeps me up at night. I don't care if you used me as your realtor when you purchased your home. I have the tools to make sure that they people in my circle are adequately protected. If you own property in the Vail Valley and I can help you, I will.
Colorado’s drought conditions are becoming impossible to ignore and mountain homeowners should be paying attention.
• Nearly 96% of Colorado is currently experiencing drought conditions.
• Eagle County has seen significantly below-normal snowpack and ongoing “snow drought” conditions this year.
• State officials are already warning of an elevated wildfire risk heading into summer.
• And perhaps most surprising: a recent University of Colorado study found that 74% of Colorado homeowners impacted by the Marshall Fire were underinsured for the true cost to rebuild their homes.
In mountain communities like the Vail Valley, replacement costs have risen dramatically over the past several years due to labor shortages, material costs, permitting expenses, and the complexity of mountain construction.
Even if you have no plans to sell, this is a good reminder to review:
✔️ Your current insurance coverage
✔️ Your home’s replacement value
✔️ Your property’s current market value
Many homeowners are carrying coverage based on values from years ago, not today’s reality.
If you’d like an updated valuation of your property for insurance or planning purposes, I’m more than happy to lend a hand. Call me at (970) 471-3673. A text to that number works, too. Or email me at [email protected].
