Property assessment notices have arrived, and I’ve already had a few people ask whether they should consider an appeal.

Keep in mind that the county has to value thousands of properties each year, often using mass appraisal methods rather than evaluating every home’s individual features, condition, updates, or unique characteristics.

Sometimes the assessed value is right on target. Sometimes it isn’t.
